Today I had my Stemzyme treatment and I am so excited to see how it all goes. Firstly, I better explain what it is and why I am desperate to have it done!
What is StemZyme™?
Stemzyme is the latest breakthrough from the legendary Danne Montague-King, known for his game-changing advancements in skin health. This treatment is truly special—it took seven years of meticulous development and was officially launched in 2023.
For us as a new clinic, offering Stemzyme has been a journey in itself. We had to “earn our stripes” as DMK Skin Revision Technicians, dedicating ourselves to mastering the techniques and philosophy behind it. It’s been a year in the making, and now we’re thrilled to finally bring this incredible treatment to our clients. How Does It work?
The Stemzyme treatment system targets aged and declining epidermal stem cells charging them with new vitality and regulating cellular proliferation. This professional treatment combined with stimulating enzyme therapy completely regenerates the structure and the function of the skin. It often jumpstarts the skin healing process when other treatments are in effective.
StemZyme is suitable for anyone aged 10+. Stemzyme can reduce the effects of impaired stem cell function including fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin tone, discolouration, uneven texture, dullness, sallow complexions, enlarged pores, dry skin and hyper reactive skin.
Why did I want to have this treatment?
Hitting the big 5-0 has brought about many changes in my skin at a rapid rate! My main concerns are volume loss and laxity. I have noticed a loss of volume in my cheeks causing my skin to head south, which is resulting in jowling in the lower face. My skin is very reactive with a persistent redness that has progressively gotten worse over the years. Other concerns include open pores and persistent dryness.
What's the Process?
Firstly my skin was cleansed and prepped for the treatment. The first step was applying the Alkaline Wash which softens and swells the hair follicle for increased permeability of the StemZyme solutions.
The next step was to trigger stem cell activation. Three solutions were then applied at varying intervals and hot and cold packs were used to increase their efficacy. Some of the serums were a bit 'bitey' at first, but it quickly subsided within 30 seconds. The cool packs in particular, felt amazing!
The final step was to apply an Enzyme Mask over the final serum and leave it on for 40 mins.
The treatment concluded with the removal of the mask and application of two further serums.
I was then presented with my at home kit which I now need to use for the next 50 days. I have to cleanse and apply two serums for the next 3 days every 8 hours. I also need to take the StemZyme supplements morning and night. The exact protocol is provided to me in easy to understand steps.
Day 1: Excuse the bed hair! Skin is a bit ruddy and feels really dry. I couldn't wait to apply the sunscreen for a bit of lubrication! I had to cleanse and apply two serums every 8 hours. I could feel a slight pulsing in my skin on the first night when I applied the serums. I am not allowed to wear make up for the next two days and I need to avoid being in the sun.
Day 3: My skin is really dry and crusty, it seems to be shedding and bringing pigment to the surface. It looks and feels better with the sunscreen on. Having to apply the serum every 8 hours has meant that I have had to wake up in the middle of the night to cleanse my skin and apply the serums, that's commitment! This is my last day of 8 hour intervals, tomorrow I start using the final two serums every 12 hours. Looking forward to shedding this crusty skin!
Day 5: Skin is back to normal, was a bit flaky up until this point. Blotchiness is gone. I have started the Age Management Serum & Skin Refining Lotion at 12 hour intervals. I am very pleased to also be able to continue my normal skin routine. I am using Herbal Pigment Oil, Betagen & Aminodine during the day and
Herbal Pigment Oil, Nite Firming & Aminodine at Night over the top of the serums.
Day 10 – My skin already feels amazing! It’s fuller, and the best way I can describe it is that it feels stronger. The redness in my cheeks is starting to settle, and after cleansing, my skin is literally glowing. I can’t wait to see what happens over the next few weeks.
Day 12 – Had my first enzyme treatment, and I actually got an insane plasmatic response—which never happens for me! The plasmatic effect refers to the visible network of capillaries that appears on the skin after a DMK Enzyme Therapy treatment. This effect occurs due to the increased circulation and oxygenation of the skin, helping to flush out toxins and deliver fresh nutrients to the cells.
It's a sign that the treatment is working to improve vascular function, promote lymphatic drainage, and enhance overall skin health. The "roadmap" of red capillaries that appears typically fades within 20 minutes, leaving the skin looking fresh, lifted, and revitalised.
Day 24 – Half way there! Second enzyme treatment, and wow. My skin feels so clear and strong. Even my day cream takes longer to sink in, because my skin doesn't need it like before. The redness is almost gone, my cheeks look fuller, pores more refined, and honestly? This is the best my skin has ever felt. I barely wear makeup now because my skin is just calm, bouncy, and glowing. Check out the photo below. I haven't had filler, I promise!
Day 34 - I honestly don’t even have the words to describe how good my skin feels right now. This treatment is all about retraining your skin to behave like it did when it was younger, and that’s exactly what it feels like it is doing. No more red irritated skin! It’s plump, hydrated, strong—and bouncy. I can’t believe how good it feels.
Day 50 | Final Enzyme – I’m hooked. That’s it. Here are my before and afters. The bottom (after) photo is directly after treatment so you can see I still have the plasmatic response. One of my main concerns was volume loss and you can see that the volume has been restored in my cheeks. I have noticed a reduction in the lines on my forehead and around my eyes and mouth. I have had a lift in the lower face which has reduced the jowling and nasolabial folds. My skin texture is off the charts! It feels amazing, so plump and hydrated. My pores are more refined and my skin feels strong. I was already obsessed with DMK products and their Enzyme treatments, but this treatment truly takes it to another level.
